Bar III for Macy’s Fall 2012 Preview at the Penthouse

I had a chance to get an exclusive sneak peak of the new Bar III for Macy’s collection for Fall 2012. The invite-only event was held at the gorgeous Bar III Penthouse which overlooks the Hudson River in New York City. I’ve never been to this location before and the view was just so incredible to see. Guests at the event also had a chance to enjoy grilled burgers, veggies and beer that were served on the breathtaking rooftop terrace.

The new Bar III collection for Fall included RTW for women’s, men’s as well as jewelry and home decor. I thought the collection was very interesting and I loved that it focused on variations of different prints and shapes. One of my  favorite pieces was the below print dress.

While perusing the collection I had a chance to interview Jake Hammel who was one of the brand representatives.

Here’s what he had to say about the Bar III Fall 2012 collection:

Can you tell me about the new collection?
It's part of the Macy’s Impulse Department. It’s a very young and contemporary collection that offers style focused pieces. It has women’s and men’s RTW. It also has jewelry for women and a home collection. There’s different pieces for the Fall collection. The design aesthetic stays true to Bar III but is also branched into a lot more patterns and textures for Fall. You’ll see the different patterns. When it comes to textures we bring in heavy knits for our caped piece. We also have a coated denim jacket so it looks like a traditional jean jacket but it’s really black denim so it has a different aesthetic and feel.

What are the biggest trends?
The biggest trends are working with leather pieces both for the women’s and men’s side. When it comes to accents, sleeve details and trims. The trim detail of leather for the jacket as well as cutouts. Cutouts where it’s the knit interwoven on top of the neckline and also the laser cutout dress and skirt. The collection is also very Aztec when it comes to the patterns and the color combinations with the different textures.

BOSS Black Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Show Makes a 3-D Debut in Beijing

HUGO BOSS has always been known for innovation but this season they went above and beyond by not only producing one gem of a collection but also broadcasting the whole show using 3-D technology. Another monumental move for the brand was hosting the fashion show in Beijing and introducing the collection to the Chinese audience on a whole new level.

The BOSS Black Fall/Winter 2012 collection was filled with sophisticated and classic pieces both for men and women. Stand out looks included bright coral and purple dresses. My favorite was the above plunging neckline suit dress with flowing bottom. The use of a strong signature belt was a perfect addition to this look as well as a few others in the collection.

Trying On BCBG Gowns at Lord & Taylor

There's nothing like wearing a glamorous long gown to a fun Summer soiree.

This weekend I came across two lovely BCBG gowns at Lord & Taylor.
Left: BCBG "Jordana" gown $388.00
Right: BCBG "Timoa" gown $548.00

I couldn't decide which one to choose as both were really lovely. Can you help me decide? Comment on which one looks best!

Hot Summer Trend: Neon Pumps by Charles David

If you haven't noticed, neon is the hot new trend in town. Bright neon colors are taking over this season from dresses, bags and shoes. I spotted these fabulous neon yellow pumps at the Charles David store. I'm personally not a fan of 80's trends but neon is really starting to grow on me.

These neon Charles David pumps went quite well with my leather leggings, don't you think?

ANNA DELLO RUSSO ACCESSORIES COLLECTION FOR H&M

H&M recently announced a special collaboration with Fashion Director of Vogue Japan Anna Dello Russo. Anna is an icon in the fashion world and my personal style inspiration. She is known for her extravagant wardrobe choices as well as her exquisite taste in accessories. I was thrilled to hear that she will be producing an accessories line for H&M.
The sneak peak photo of Anna's new collection shows an array of rich colors like turquoise, gold and a bit of coral. I personally love this combination as it reminds me of something a Grecian goddess would wear.

You can expect to see a range of glamorous, precious and playful pieces that are a direct expression of Anna’s taste for ornamentation. The collection will be available starting October 4th –the peak of the global Fashion Week tour – in approximately 140 stores worldwide and online. Dello Russo’s line will feature jewelry, sunglasses, shoes, bags and trolley- all designed so H&M customers can acquire unique style at an affordable price.
