ELLE Magazine Lounge During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

I was invited for the second time to ELLE Magazine’s lounge at the Empire Hotel during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The lounge was dedicated to bringing awareness to GLSEN which is the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network. It’s currently the leading national education organization focused on ensuring safe schools for all students.

As a guest at the lounge you were treated to many exciting perks like getting your hair done by the John Barrett hair salon, manicures by Sakura and tasty treats by Soft Serve Fruit Co.

Wearing a Yoana Baraschi Dress to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

I was sent this lovely Yoana Baraschi Balinese Paisley Patchwork Maxi just in time to wear to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this season. I’ve always dreamed of wearing a piece by Yoana Baraschi. Her brand has such rare combination of artistic design mixed with luxurious European influence. I felt like I was wearing a delicate work of art when I put on this dress.

I was excited to see that the paparazzi also loved my dress. One of the photographers named David Carman included my photo on his street style blog called Sublime Dutch.

Yoana Baraschi is sold in approximately 500 specialty boutiques globally such as Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s West, Intermix, and Fred Segal. If you’re interested in buying this dress you can currently find it on Yoana Baraschi’s website.

Some of her celebrity clients include Halle Berry, Sienna Miller, Paris Hilton, Rachel Bilson, Heidi Klum, and Lauren Conrad.

I’ve always believed that certain clothes can give a woman power and this was definitely the case for this dress. Thank you so much Yoana Baraschi for giving me this amazing dress and making me feel like European royalty at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

How I Wear My Michael Kors Watch: #MKTimeless

Image provided by Michael Kors

Have you seen anything more beautiful? Michael Kors just introduced their new Limited Edition Runway Watch that was inspired by Paris. I’m excited and honored to tell you that I was chosen by the Michael Kors team to be one of a few select online influencers that is involved in the social media campaign to announce the watch.

This is truly one of those rare pieces that is meant to be treasured and passed down as an heirloom. There are many ways I would personally style the watch. I envision wearing it with an equally glamorous outfit that would be comprised of a white feather dress and black heels. The white feathers would really make this lovely rose gold watch stand out. The white would also match the dial which is embellished with a 2.5 mm diamond at the number-12 index.

The watch is valued at $650 and there were only 2,000 made. Luckily, Michael Kors is giving away the first 3!

Here are the rules to win one: Love your Michael Kors watch? Show us how you wear it! Share your photo on Instagram with the tag #MKTimeless for a chance to win the Paris Limited Edition Runway watch.

Diet Pepsi Photo Station at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

One my favorite things to do at  Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this season was take photos at the Diet Pepsi photo station! The photo station was located in the outside portion of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. You had a chance to customize your look with fun accessories like a crown, colorful boas and more. One of my favorites was the above photo where I was wearing a crown. I kind of felt like the unofficial Diet Pepsi Princess!

Wearing Eliza J Dresses to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

I was quite a lucky girl to be dressed by Eliza J for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week this season. Eliza J is one of the top fashion companies and is currently sold at Macy's, Nordstrom, Carson's, Dillard’s, Von Maur and fine specialty stores. The whole experience from picking out the dresses to actually wearing them to Fashion Week was such a dream come true. A week before Fashion Week I was invited to visit Eliza J’s showroom which is nestled right in the heart of NYC’s fashion district. The moment I walked into the showroom I was completely blown away by all of the beautiful dresses. There was a rack of dresses already waiting for me to try on. It was a very hard decision to choose just a few but I ended up picking four lovely dresses.

The first piece I chose was the above bell sleeved pink dress. I was completely in love with the sleeves! The dress reminded me of something Elizabeth Taylor would wear. It was such a sophisticated piece that I couldn't resist pairing it with white and black pearls. As fashion fate would have it the day I wore this dress I was gifted a matching flower head piece by That Madonna Girl. The flowers were just what I needed to complete my mod chic look.

The second piece that I picked out was this beautiful print gown. What I loved most about this look was how perfectly it fit my body. I wore Jeffrey Campbell heels that matched the gold belt perfectly. I decided to keep the accessories to a minimum because the gown was such an attention grabber.

The third piece that I picked out was this stunning one shoulder coral dress from their Kate Middleton inspired "Royal Collection". I loved the bright coral color and the fact that it was inspired by royalty. I couldn't help feeling like a princess when I wore this dress! I paired it with simple back heels and a jeweled bracelet courtesy of Kensie.

Finally, I saved the best for the last! The fourth and final piece that I picked out was the above black cape dress. I decided to pair the look with neon pumps by Aldo which luckily arrived just 10 minutes before I left for Fashion Week. I've never seen a dress like this before and the moment I put it on I knew this piece was very special. My feeling was right and it became one of the most photographed dresses that I've ever worn to Fashion Week. The second I walked into the courtyard at Lincoln Center the fashion paparazzi gathered to take my photo. This look definitely made me feel like a celebrity as there were at least 10 photographers taking my photo at once.

David Geffin who was one of the photographer was nice enough to take the below picture of me being photographed. He also took this great photo of me and posted it on his Facebook fan page.

Thank you so much Eliza J for making look like a million bucks this season at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week! Check out their WebsiteFacebook and Twitter to see more of their lovely dresses.

Fashion's Night Out at Taylor Dress

Fashion’s Night Out was one of the most glamorous events for me during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. This year I attended FNO for Taylor Dress which is one of my favorite dress companies. The event was held at a chic loft on Wooster Street in New York.

The room sparkled with beautiful people and decorations. Tables with Taylor Dress's signature polka dot print table cloths were set with roses and candles.

Guests were treated to lots of hors d'oeuvres and champagne to celebrate the new Taylor Dress Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The event also featured L’elite Magazine and Effy Jewelry.

I was photographed by L’elite Magazine for a chance to be featured on their cover. Here is a link to my cover photo on their Facebook page.

Thank you so much Taylor Dress for inviting me to celebrate your new collection during FNO!

My Synderela Story at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

A week before Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week I had absolutely no idea what I was going to wear. I’ve searched the racks high and low at countless stores but nothing really came across as the “it” dress to wear.

Luckily, the wonderful girls at Synderela came to my fashion rescue and let me visit their beautiful showroom in New York to pick out a dress.

It was a very hard decision as their showroom is filled with so many gorgeous pieces.

I ended up borrowing a stunning high slit dress called “SYNsational”. Coral is my favorite color and of course what attracted me the most to this dress was the va-va-voom slit! Ever since Angelina Jolie rocked the slit on the red carpet I’ve kind of been obsessed with long high slit dresses.

The moment I put on the SYNsational dress I was turned into a modern day Synderela and my fairy-tale day at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week began.

During my first day I had a chance to see so many amazing fashion shows like Chadwick Bell, Tadashi Shoji, ARISE and Supima.

Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations Video

If you missed the Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations at the Met then you must see this brilliant video about the exhibit!

About:
Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations, explored the striking affinities between Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, two Italian designers from different eras. Inspired by Miguel Covarrubias's "Impossible Interviews" for Vanity Fair in the 1930s, the exhibition features orchestrated conversations between these iconic women to suggest new readings of their most innovative work. Iconic ensembles are presented with videos of simulated conversations between Schiaparelli and Prada directed by Baz Luhrmann, focusing on how both women explore similar themes in their work through very different approaches.

Kensie Spring 2013 Jewelry Collection Preview

I attended the Kensie Spring 2013 Jewelry collection preview which was held at their beautiful showroom in New York. I wore a bright blue blazer over a fuzzy grey dress. I've been experimenting with wearing different fabric textures lately and this outfit just really came together. Ironically, it also matched the vibrant decor in the room!

The room was buzzing with fashionable guests who sipped on complimentary Skinny Girl margaritas.
Kensie's new Spring 2013 collection featured an assortment of chunky statement pieces and colorful geometric shaped jewelry. The whole collection was very in tune to the fun vibe of the typical Kensie girl who wears elegant but whimsical pieces.
I had a chance to meet Erin Cornell, one of the lead jewelry designers of Kensie. We chatted about the new collection and her inspiration for it.
Tell me about the new collection?

Erin: I’m really excited about the new collection. It’s different than what you’ve seen in the months before. It’s gotten a lot more colorful, fun and feminine. There’s a lot of really exciting colors and funky silhouettes. One thing I’m really excited about are the great layering items. There are a lot of fun pieces that you can layer on or just wear by themselves. They work with existing jewelry or just with a t-shirt.

Where did you find your inspiration for this collection?

Erin: It was a lot of different things from just shopping around and seeing what the cool girls are wearing and also what I would like to wear. I chose colors that I’m excited about but also the colors that are trendy. Also, different techniques that are trendy now in jewelery. It was a collaboration of things that I was inspired by and pieces that I’m excited about personally wearing.

Martí's Glamorous Collection at Caravan Stylist Studio

Sequins, leather, fur, oh my! Introducing Martí’s Holiday collection... I had the incredible opportunity of meeting Martí personally and previewing her new collection at Caravan Stylist Studio. I really loved everything from the sequin dresses to the leather jackets. It reminded me of something Serena or Blair would wear on Gossip Girl, one of my guilty TV pleasures. In fact the whole collection is reminiscent of a girl with a privileged life yet the price points are not outlandish.

Check out my favorite picks from Martí’s collection below.
Breathtaking is one word to describe these two sequin gowns. Forget the short dresses for New Year's Eve it's all about the long sophisticated gowns this season.
These leather jackets by Martí were a perfect mix of grungy meets chic.
Style tip: you can pair them with either a dress or wear with a simple t-shirt and leggings.
Simple shirt dress meets fur on bottom. How brilliant?! This is such a cute dress to wear for the Holiday's.
Style tip: Pair it with a chunky statement necklace to balance out the heavy bottom.
This was another fabulous sequin gown by Martí. It's such a strong piece that will definitely get you noticed.

About:
Launched in 2010, Martí is an All-American collection of luxe tailored essentials. Providing style to those who are also seeking comfort, Martí has conjured up the most addictive line of go-to separates to pair with her highly-coveted leather jackets.
