SCENE Magazine & Saks Fifth Avenue Black & White Party

It’s always such a pleasure to receive an invitation from SCENE Magazine, an NYC based society and fashion magazine. SCENE is known for hosting the most fun social events around the city. This time they put together a fabulous black and white party with Saks Fifth Avenue.

10% of sales from the evening went to benefit Coalition for the Homeless.

My evening was spent receiving air kisses from old fashion friends and exchanging business cards with new ones.

This was one of the very few events that I decided to attend this past month. After Fashion Week ended I took a brief hiatus from the New York social scene to think about everything. I felt like I was getting a little too caught up in the frivolous part of it all and didn’t pay enough attention to what was truly important.

During my brief self-reflection I realized how much fashion truly means to me. My happiest memories are dressing up in glamorous looks and mingling with fascinating fashion/society souls in the city.

The most rewarding part of it all is reading fan emails from readers who’ve been inspired by my stories to add a touch of glamour and adventure to their own lives. This is what matters the most to me.

I look forward to bringing you even more beautiful looks and entertaining stories. In addition, I’ll also be making exciting expansions to the blog in the coming months. :)

New friends, me, Jarman and Alex

I was so happy to see my friend Alex and his lovely boyfriend Jarman and friends. The ever-so-stylish duo are always the best dressed for every social occasion from New York to the Hamptons.

DJ Frankie Flowers  entertained guests with fun beats throughout the evening.

I spotted my friend Marco Santaniello who stood out in his cool shades, leather jacket and black and white shirt. I met Marco a few years ago at New York Fashion Week. Marco is a self-made 'International Superstar Fashion & Contemporary Pop Artist.' He was recently featured at the Tazza Gallery in New York and also has a strong presence abroad.

One of my favorite people to see at the event was the lovely Larissa Milashenko. Back when I was a college student at FIT I interned at a fashion company called Members Only and Larissa was one of my bosses. Fast forward to 6 years later and here we meet again in different stages of our lives. Larissa is now a well known publicist at EFGPR in New York.

A big thank you to my friend Michelle from Natori for accessorizing me with beautiful black Natori earrings and cuff for the event. The black Natori cuff reminded me of flames so I decided to name my look 'black flame'.
