I had a chance to attend Raine Magazine’s
international issue celebration party for their star cover girl Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin. The soiree was held at
the Pierre Hotel, notably one of the most luxurious hotels in New York located right by Central Park.
Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin is a singer, socialite and philanthropist and the seventh
generation descendent of railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt. The beautiful
blonde heiress is also owner of her own record label, C&R
Records.
Consuelo has performed around the world and
shared the stage with notable artists like Mya and Vanessa Carlton.
Her first dance single “Naked” spent 16
weeks on the Billboard charts and reached #12. Her follow-up single “Feel So
Alive,” co-written and produced by Peter Amato reached Billboard’s #2 spot for
Breakout Artist and #21 on the U.S. Billboard Dance Charts.
Consuelo’s current single, “Here We Go”
captured the attention of the German, French and UK DJs and landed her in the
German club charts for the first time.
The worldly heiress was definitely a
befitting cover choice for Raine magazine’s international issue. Raine
is the first magazine to serve as the platform for rising creative and
unconventional entrepreneurs.
I arrived at the party with my designer
friend and notable fashion icon Vito Emanuele. We were both dressed in pieces
from his namesake couture collection. I chose Vito’s form fitting black
cocktail dress which had the most delicate mesh trimming on top and bottom. The dress was paired with pearls and my favorite black heels by Michael Kors. I was very much inspired by old Hollywood icon Audrey Hepburn for this look. Vito wore
his classic black suit set with matching scarf.
Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin looked
absolutely stunning in her blue gown by Douglas Hannant.
She was everything you would imagine a
Vanderbilt to be; beautiful, poised and extremely talented.
Complimentary cocktails from Magnifico Giornata & Maker's 46 were served in the Pierre Hotel’s Two E Bar/Lounge while a DJ spined the latest hits including Consuelo's single "Here We Go."
I was so excited to see my fellow Russian and
luxury handbag designer Anzhelika Steen-Olsen. I’m holding one of her pieces from her Eliann Couture exotic
skin handbag collection.
Anzhelika came with our mutual friend Chance Spiessbach, Celebrity TV host and
owner of chancetelevision.com.
It’s always so much fun to see these two powerhouse socials at society/fashion events.
Another one of my favorite people to see
that evening was Adam Matthew Weiss, CEO of AMW Public Relations. I always love running into Adam and catching up on life and upcoming events.
I had a chance to meet fashion entraperneur, Davina Reichman Schuck. Davina is the founder
and Managing Director of three companies: NYC Fashion Runway; which caters to classic, up-and-coming fashion
designers and gives them a chance to showcase their collections in NYC. iClothing; creator of the world’s first” iPad compatible clothing and Being Born Again Couture; an annual fashion show that collaborates with top fashion designers.
In between networking and mingling with old
fashion/entertainment friends I took a moment to take in the grandeur of the
Pierre Hotel. I imagined what it would be like to live there and walk through the golden lit halls every morning...
I couldn’t help but feel like a modern day Audrey Hepburn thanks
to my celebrity hair stylist/friend Eran Edri from the Francky L’Official Salon and my
black dress and pearls from the Vito Emanuele showroom.
Eran did a KĂ©rastase deep conditioning treatment on
my hair earlier that day and created a side sweep up-do.
I’ve always dreamed of
re-creating an Audrey Hepburn inspired look and that evening my dream finally
came true. The combination of the hair, dress and pearls were just the right
elements for the perfect Audrey 2.0 look!
Before leaving I had the pleasure of seeing Couri Hay, a PR
legend and owner of R. Couri Hay Creative Public Relations
(RCHCPR). Couri and his PR team brilliantly executed the PR for the event that evening.
Couri Hay has over 25 years of experience
in media relations and image/brand development. He is a creative strategist,
image counselor and campaign and crisis manager. He started his career as one
of the original contributing editors of Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine, and went on to help create the chatter
column for People magazine and
write for Town & Country.
He was a Society Editor for LA
Confidential, and is a Columnist for Gotham and Hamptons. He
is currently an editor and writes a society column for Avenue Magazine.
Thank you Vito Emanuele for making that evening possible and dressing me in another one of your exquisite couture pieces!
