New York Fashion Week Adventures SS18

Another September, another New York Fashion Week. Can't believe it's been over 10 years since I've been to the NYFW shows. My very first one was at Bryant Park, just when Fashion Week was starting out. As the seasons progressed, the shows moved to Lincoln Center, where the grandeur of fashion continued. Now New York Fashion Week has been sporadically split across town, from shows by downtown Washington St, to Chelsea Piers and more. The feeling is absolutely different without a central hub, but being the ever optimist I tried to make the best of the day at NYFW. I had only one day this season to attend shows as the rest of my week was too filled with meetings and such. Of course, I tried to cram as much as possible into the 7+ hours I had to myself that Sunday.

My look was an easy effort this time as the outfit I had in mind was originally thought for last September Fashion Week, but I never had a chance to wear it, until now.

My look was inspired by Zombie Model Rick Genest meets Italian chic Chiara Ferragni, with the spiked sunglasses, Italian yellow gown and spiked booties.

Happy to say I pulled it off, and all my fashion friends at NYFW loved the look! I was so excited to spend the day with my good friend Nora Kobrenik, Editor of Tartarus magazine (pictured far right) and run into our friend Leckie Roberts (West Village Wasp) pictured in the black hat and her equally fabulous friend.

My very first show of the day was Leanne Marshall, a glamorous gown designer with the most flowy, romantic looks that you'll ever see.

Here's a quick boomerang of one of my favorite looks. Needless to say yellow was definitely a statement color for SS18!

Inside the fashion week space was a setup for E! studio where all of the cool fashion/celebrity interviews happen during the shows.

The street photographers were a dime a dozen by Washington Street, and it was so much fun to have our pictures taken, although I can't imagine having these people follow me around on a daily basis...

What's New York Fashion Week without a few super cool characters with a mini station full of pink cotton candy?! JBC Style, a fashion recruiting company gave out packets full of sweet cotton candy treats to fashionable guests.

Washington Street seemed pretty limited when it came to a photoshoot background, but Nora convinced me that the gas station backdrop would be absolutely perfect. Andddddddddd, she was right! The yellow accents matched my look nicely, and voila there you have a street photo!

It was tongue rings and spiked sunnies kind of day for Nora and me at New York Fashion Week.

Air kisses (NYFW staple) were pretty much out of the question with my spiked sunnies, but Nora and me made it work with some distance. :P

In between shows Nora and me went to our favorite place for lunch called Le Pain Quotidien, and of course I couldn't resist some rosĂ© to start.

I highly recommend the salmon and avocado toast if you're visitng LPQ. I'm such a habitual person that this is literally the only food I will ever order at Le Pain Quotidien.

It was so lovely to catch up with Nora, chat about life, fashion and everything in between. After lunch we went to see our last show of the evening for Samantha Leibowitz at Chelsea Piers and called it a day. Thanks Nora for the epic NYFW memories, cheers to more adventures soon! x
