A Summer Wedding Story: Wearing Teri Jon

There is no better way to end Summer than with an August wedding. I had the pleasure of attending Joey and Kim’s wedding as my friend's guest. The wedding was held at the charming Shelter Rock Jewish Center in Long Island. I’ve never really been to Long Island so it was exciting to take a trip up there for the big day.

My absolute favorite part was of course picking out what I was going to wear. I found a gorgeous Teri Jon sequin lace cocktail dress with a feather hem and knew it was the one! No pun intended… ;)

The moment I saw the dress, I instantly fell in love with the rose design, intricate beading and of course the feather detailing on the bottom!

The color of the dress was more of a Fall look, so to make it a bit more Summery I put on bright pink lipstick and wore a matching pink bag.

It was a hard decision as all of Teri Jon’s dresses are so pretty and befitting for weddings! Teri Jon is a luxury brand with the finest specialty and day-to dinner wear. They’re sold globally in high-end department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Lord and Taylor, as well as in specialty boutiques worldwide. Every Teri Jon item is designed with precision and artistry, and is made with top quality fabrics and expert craftsmanship

My friend Gene brought me as his guest. He’s been friend’s with Joey, the groom for over 20 years now and it was exciting to see his best friend get married. Not sure if it was intentional, but super impressed that he wore a grey tie that matched my Teri Jon dress! Speaking of the dress, it was such a hit at the wedding! I can't tell you how many people came up to me to compliment me on it. I was so happy I had a chance to wear it for the wedding!

In celebration, the best men drank shots of Blue Label scotch. I’m not a big hard liquor drinker, but this actually was pretty good! (More of a champagne and wine kind of girl…)

Speaking of, I was so excited to find champagne with strawberries during the pre-wedding cocktail!

Before the wedding, Joey and Kim saw each other for the first time that day. It was so sweet to see their love for one another radiating through the room the moment they reunited for photos.

I was so pleased with how my hair turned out for the wedding. The hairdresser in my town did such a phenomenal job putting it together in such a short amount of time.

Of course, what’s a special occasion without fancy jewelry! My favorite diamond ring was the perfect compliment to my feather Teri Jon dress.

Finally, it was time for the actual wedding! It was so exciting to see a real love story come to life that day. The whole thing was so beautifully put together, and the bride and groom looked completely, and utterly in love with each other standing under the chuppah.

After the wedding, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with a carving station, followed by a fancy dinner.

I’m a huge foodie, so picking out my dinner option was extraordinarily hard! Both the herb crusted salmon and the chateaubriand (steak) looked so good! Ultimately, I went with the steak.

A mandarin salad on a wonton crisp was served as the appetizer. (It was as good as it sounds!)

My steak was incredibly yummy and came with a cabernet demi glace.

I had so much fun dancing at the wedding in my feather Teri Jon dress. I swear that dress was literally made for hitting the dance floor! I'm a terrible dancer, but it was definitely a good way to burn all those calories from the amazing dinner I had.

Each table also included loto tickets for guests, courtesy of Joey and Kim. I thought this was such a cute idea. (Made a mental note to do this at my wedding too!)

Thanks Joey and Kim for having me at your beautiful wedding. Wishing you a lifetime of happiness and good things. Mazel tov!
