Breakfast at Tiffany's - Blue Box Cafe Birthday Experience

I didn't know that Breakfast at Tiffany's (apart from the movie) was an actual thing until my best friend Robyn managed to get us some pretty hard to get reservations for her Birthday. In the 1960's classic 'Breakfast at Tiffany's, Holly Golightly’s breakfast outside of Tiffany’s included a bodega croissant and coffee while she window shopped the jewels. The real life version of the moment (albeit a more high-end) sit-down dining experience can now be found at The Blue Box Cafe, located on the 4th floor of the Tiffany's flagship store on 5th avenue.

The Blue Box Cafe serves American classics made with the highest quality, regionally sourced ingredients. The menu is expected to evolve through the
seasons for a refined take on signature New York dishes reinvented to be uniquely Tiffany.

While we decided on our breakfast selections we were served fresh fruits which come with whatever is ordered on the breakfast menu.

In tandem with the fruits also came croissants with the most delicious spread of Nutella and butter.

I ordered the smoked salmon and bagel stack with cream cheese, tomatoes, red onions and capers. In all honestly I've had better, the salmon was okay but the bagels were over toasted. Worth the $32+ I paid? Probably not, but the overall Instagram worthy experience was definitely priceless.

The Birthday girl ordered the buttermilk waffle with fruit and maple syrup.

The breakfast concluded with a sweet slice of cheesecake topped with a Birthday candle for Robyn to make a wish. :)

Before we left we took a few photos by the Tiffany's blue ambiance. The room was covered in the brand’s trademark robin’s egg blue, from the slipcovers on the chairs to the paint on the walls. We definitely felt like we were dining inside a Tiffany's blue box.

On the way out I had my own Holly Golightly experience of window shopping their extraordinary yellow diamond - post breakfast this time and with a Google Pixel 2 in-hand to capture all those shining carats. A 2018 version of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's indeed...
