One of the most exciting events for me during Fashion Week was the Betsey Johnson fashion show and 70th birthday party.
I’ve always been such a huge fan of Betsey Johnson and dreamed of being invited to see her fashion show. My dream officially came true when I received the below email invitation!
The email was followed up with a formal invitation which was sent in a shiny metallic envelope. In true Betsey style the invitation had a pink toothbrush attached to it that said “Brush up on Betsey.” It was such an honor and dream come true to see my blog’s name printed on the envelope.
Before entering the show space I walked by a sea of pink gift bags that were filled with lots of Betsey Johnson goodies like a thong and perfume!
The room was filled with so many beautiful guests and celebrities that included Adrienne Ballon, AnnaSophia Robb, Bridget Marquardt, Charlotte Ronson, Kelly Osborne, Lil Kim and many more!
Guests were treated to signature Betsey cupcakes served by Baked by Melissa, Godiva chocolates and sparkling rosé served by Martini.

The fashion show started with models strutting down the runway in Betsey’s favorite looks from her 40+ years as a designer. This included pieces from the 60s (Paraphernalia), 70s (Alley Cat) and 80s (Punk Label). I couldn't help thinking what a historic moment it was to witness firsthand what Betsey Johnson had accomplished throughout her career in fashion. In addition, Betsey also revealed her new Spring 2013 collection of flirty dresses that were detailed with signature Betsey accents.

The show also featured a stellar performance by music icon Cyndi Lauper, who performed songs like “True Colors,” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” As Cyndi was singing happy birthday a cake was wheeled out by male models dressed in suits. Betsey’s daughter Lulu Johnson jumped out of the cake to a cheering crowd.

Betsey then came out with her granddaughters to join Lulu and Cyndi as pink confetti blanketed the stage. The show closed with Betsey doing her iconic cartwheel and split.

After the show I had the time of my life dancing the night away to music by Sky Ferriera and meeting Adrienne Bailon.
