New York Fashion Week Diary Day 2: Pink Swan Makeover at Caravan Stylist Studio + Zang Toi Spring 2016 Fashion Show!

Day 2 of New York Fashion Week was probably one of my favorites for so many reasons! The first being that I was invited to see my friend and designer Zang Toi’s fashion show that day. I look forward to Zang’s show each season as he’s one of the most innovative, brilliant and indescribably talented designers I know!

The second reason was that I had a chance to wear a THEIA custom pink dress with feathers straight off their runway! The dress was invaluable and of course I needed the right hair and makeup to complete the look. I was so lucky that the Caravan Stylist Studio team could squeeze me in for a last minute makeover. The look they created for me was nothing short of brilliant as they molded me into the ‘Pink Swan’ for New York Fashion Week.

My day started with a long morning of meetings so I decided to treat myself to a big pre-fashion week lunch at Cajun Sea. In addition to a love of fashion, I’m also a huge foodie! I was so excited to have discovered this yummy place in the city. Cajun Sea serves southern cajun food as well as fresh northeast style seafood favorites. It was a really hard decision, but I ultimately went with their salmon burger with Cajun fries. Verdict: So yummy!! Really want to come back again soon. Next time, I'm definitely bringing my good friend Hiromi who recently started her own food blog called When In Romi.

After lunch I decided to stop by Caravan Stylist Studio again to see one of their featured designers of the day, Daniel Sánchez. I was so excited to meet Daniel and preview his new collection. Daniel is a couture fashion and evening wear designer based in New York. Noted for his couture-inspired gowns as well as for his attention to quality and construction, Daniel is a formidable talent who is as comfortable with design as he is with execution and fit.

One of my favorite pieces from his collection was this stunning white gown with intricate beading. It reminded me of a mix between Hollywood glamour meets Greek goddess couture.

Another one of my favorite looks was this fun, short mini dress. I would wear this baby with a long shawl, and over-the-knee black boots. How chic is this look?!

After previewing Daniel’s new collection, the lovely team at Caravan squeezed me in for a last minute hair/makeup that went along with my pink swan look for New York Fashion Week. Imani Beverly Jones (@beautybleus) created my incredible redish smoky eye look with strong eye brows.

Imani created the look by the makeup inspired by Kevita options, ultimately choosing the Hibiscus Berry option for me.

Next, I had the wonderful opportunity of getting my hair done by Ivanandre Torres (@ivandraretorees) from Christo Salon. Ivanandre created a super chic messy bun for me that went along perfectly with my pink swan look.

Here’s a look at guests getting pampered with nails and hair/makeup for their fashion week events. Caravan Stylist Studio, is an innovative wardrobe and beauty studio that pairs actresses, tastemakers and media influencers with top fashion designers and beauty experts located at The Gregory Hotel in New York City.

Thanks so much Caravan for having me! Special thanks to their amazing sponsors: Chapstick, Kevita Drinks, The Gregory Hotel, Nymbrands, Liftlab, Color Club Nails, Lesportsac, Wizo USA, Christo Fifth Avenue, Fake Bake USA, Luna Bar, Volvic USA, Belvoir, Infusion Company, Foreo and Physicians Formula.

My fierce makeup/hair by the Caravan team was the perfect compliment to my pink swan-esque THEIA dress.

I made it downtown from the Upper East Side in record time to New York Fashion Week’s new location at Skylight at Moynihan Station. I had a little bit of time before Zang Toi's fashion show so I took a moment to explore and of course take pictures. Here’s a look right outside of the venue. I was so pleased with how my pink swan inspired look turned out. It's always such a pleasure to wear THEIA, but there was something so magical about this particular dress. My fellow fashion week attendees agreed and I got so many request to have my picture taken!

The back of my THEIA dress was even more dreamier than the front. It had a perfectly cutout back and the most charming pink silk bow.

Time was getting close to the Zang Toi fashion show and I was so excited to get on line for the show. It’s such an honor to know Zang and I couldn’t have been happier and more excited to see his new collection.

I found my assigned seat at Zang’s show. I had some time before the show so I chatted with my seat mate who was originally from New Orleans. It was her first fashion show ever! I still remember how excited I was for my first show at Bryant Park so many years ago. I told her she was in for a big treat, as Zang always puts on a breathtaking show.

Finally, it was time for Zang's "Splendor of Santorini" Spring 2016 fashion show! The opening look was a gorgeous white couture cotton s/b blazer worn w/ hand-beaded Santorini statement crystal necklace white cotton high-waisted trouser.

A handsome male model walked out in Zang’s white couture cotton s/b suit. I couldn’t help but imagine a vacation in Santorini, wearing Zang’s new collection for epic dinner parties on the beach and of course accompanied by this handsome babe.

One of my favorite looks was the ocean green airy pleated tulle empired gown with encrusted ocean blue glass beads. It was absolutely exquisite, and would make a perfect dress for an opulent vacation to Santorini.

Here’s a close-up of Zang’s encrusted Santorini opaque glass beads halter with ocean blue airy pleated tulle empired gown.

Cheering guests gave Zang a well deserved standing ovation the moment he came out for the finale bow.

Bravo Zang on the incredible “Splendor of Santorini” Spring 2016 fashion show!

After Zang’s fashion show I had a chance to catch up with my fellow Russian babe and Editor in Chief of Tartarus Magazine, Eleonora Kobrenik.

Eleonora gave me a little blue Tiffany’s box tied neatly with a white bow. She mentioned that the present was something I really wanted...

I carefully opened the little blue box to reveal the fashion claws I’ve always wanted! Just a few months back when Eleonora and I had lunch in the city I briefly mentioned how I’ve always wanted to wear claws for fashion week. I was completely blown away by her incredibly kind gesture, and giving me these beauties! Thank you again Eleonora for completely making my fashion week. I’m so in love with them, and can't wait to wear them again for future events!
