Exciting news! For the first time I will be representing myself and my site TheStyleSocialite.com at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York after years of writing for someone else.

It’s so amazing to think that my first time at New York Fashion Week was handing out magazines for WWD when I first started college. I was so excited to just BE at New York Fashion Week that I didn’t care what I did to get in as long as I was there. While standing on my feet during the 4 hour shifts handing out magazines to invited guests I said to myself that a few years from now I will be one of those people that was actually ‘important’ enough to be recognized and invited to the shows at New York Fashion Week.

Following my internship at WWD I was lucky to write for a few magazines which granted me entry into the tents but this particular Fashion Week will be extra special for me since the invites are to my name and site.

Eleanor Roosevelt once said "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams" and I'm so happy I never gave up on mine.

Luxury meets affordability is the new chic. I love finding pieces that look outrageously expensive but in fact are really in-expensive. Now with the most recent trend of high-end luxury brands collaborating with Target you're guaranteed to look like a million bucks without breaking the bank.

My favorite high-end collaborations with Target were Rodarte and Zac Posen and now most recently the upcoming Missoni collection. The luxury Italian house partnered with Target for a very affordable line that hits stores and online starting Sept. 13 till Oct. 22 and will include over 400 products to choose from. Select products will be available longer, some through early December, depending on availability. The collection stays true to the look and feel of the Missoni brand with a touch of a mod 1960’s appeal.

The Missoni for Target pieces includes knit dresses, sweaters, swimwear, shoes, scarves and intimates for women, as well as beauty items such as cosmetic cases, brush sets and hair accessories. The men’s collection features silk ties, sweaters, scarves and knit hats, while the girls’ and baby assortments include knit dresses, cardigans, scarves, gloves and rain boots. The home collection offers bedding, luggage, dinnerware, stationery, bicycles and outdoor as well as iPad and iPod covers.
