New Year New Hair: Blonde Ombre Makeover At Christo Salon Fifth Avenue

Celebrity Stylist Ivan Torres and me
New Year new hair! I was so excited to get an ombre hair makeover at the famous Christo Salon on Fifth Avenue.
For the past few years I’ve been dreaming of getting this done, but couldn’t quite do it because my hair was not long enough to achieve the look that I wanted. When I first met Christo at his Birthday/Holiday party a few weeks ago I knew that I wanted to get my hair done at his salon. Aside from being one of the nicest, most welcoming people I’ve ever met, I was also incredibly in awe of his decadent salon from the plush leather waiting coaches to the enchanting chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The ambience was the epitome of Hollywood glamour, and I couldn't wait to treat myself to the experience.
Just a few days before the New Year I emailed Christo to see if there were any appointments open in the near future, and to my luck there had been an opening a day after the new year! I was so excited to find out that Celebrity stylist Ivan Torres was going to be doing my hair that day. Ivan was the incredible stylist who created the black swan inspired updo for me when I attended New York Fashion Week a few months ago in September. The paparazzi absolutely loved that look, and now I couldn’t have been more thrilled to have Ivan create an ombre masterpiece for me.

NYFW Makeover: Old Hollywood Ombre by Celebrity Stylist Adam Livermore at Muze Salon

Celebrity Stylist Adam Livermore and me

This season for New York Fashion Week I had the tremendous honor of getting an Old Hollywood Ombre makeover by legendary Celebrity stylist Adam Livermore at Muze Salon in New York. Adam was highly recommended by my good friend Stephen Marinaro, ‘TheSalonGuy’. You can imagine my excitement when I heard back that Adam would be willing to take the time out of his busy schedule to collaborate with me for this special feature!

In ten short years, Adam Livermore has become a driving force in the hairdressing industry. After working behind the chair as a master stylist and education director at Spalon Montage in Minneapolis, and as an educator with Wella Professionals and Kevin Murphy, Adam relocated to New York City and began traveling the world as an educator with Oribe Haircare, and working side by side with Oribe himself behind the scenes at fashion shows in Paris, Milan, and New York.

When he's not working behind the chair at Muze Salon in New York City, or working on the education platform, Adam is collaborating with top photographers to create inspiring new imagery. His creative work has been seen in countless magazines, including Vanity Fair, Elle Asia, Beauty Launchpad, Modern Salon, American Salon, Creem, and Ozon.

I was both excited and nervous to meet Adam as he’s worked with the world’s biggest celebrities and style icons like Tilda Swinton, Naomi Campbell, Molly Sims, Jake Gyllenhaal, Meg Ryan, and Cher.

The Eiji Salon Celebrity Dry Cut & Color Experience

Eiji Yamane and me

I went to get my hair done at the famous Eiji Salon which is located on 601 Madison Avenue in New York. The salon is owned by Eiji Yamane, a legend and innovator among hairstylists.

His salon is well known for the dry cut technique which is done by straightening hair first then meticulously cutting and tapering each strand for the perfect haircut. In addition to hair-styling the salon offers hair coloring, manicures/pedicures and luxury hair treatments.

While in the elevator going up to the 5th floor where the salon is located I met a woman who has been going to the salon for at least a decade. She asked me who my hair colorist was that day. When I told her his name was Dario her eyes lit up with excitement. She told me that he was one of the best hair colorists in New York and what a lucky girl I was just to get an appointment with him! Of course after hearing this I was beyond excited for my visit where I would add more blonde ombre and experience their renowned dry hair cut.
