My Best Friend Robyn's Wanderlust Themed Birthday: Caravan Stylist Studio with World Famous Mentor Doron Libshtein, Le Marais and Venetian Mask Party

This year for my best friend Robyn’s Birthday I threw a Wanderlust themed Birthday, creating destinations for her to visit throughout the day.

This included a trip to New York City, Paris, and finally Italy for a Venetian themed after party. Deep within Robyn’s soul there is always an urge to get up and go, an innate fondness to journey, and not be mundane. She’s constantly seeking new adventures, and has an acquiesce desire to visit and explore new places like journeying all over Europe, living in Miami, and many other far away places.

Every year we always create special themes for each others Birthdays. It was a challenge to top the epic selfie themed Birthday she threw me last year, but I think I did a pretty good job this year. :)

New York Fashion Week Diary Day 3: Chris Ber'Y, Anthony Rubio, Marco Marco Spring 2016 Fashion Shows + Meeting Lance Bass!

It’s always an unpredictable, exciting adventure when I attend New York Fashion Week and day 3 certainly made for another chapter in my book of epic stories.

My friends always joke that no one would ever believe half the things that happen to me so writing about my Fashion Week experience is always quite entertaining.

I wore a THEIA Spring 2015 silver/gold dress for my shows that evening. The dress was a perfect fit, and I absolutely loved the incredibly chic design. The juxtaposition of blue and gold patterns really made this look stand out. In addition its cut out front was the perfect touch of sexy, yet classic.

New York Fashion Week Diary Day 1: Malan Breton Spring 2016 Fashion Show + Visit To Caravan Stylist Studio

Day one of New York Fashion Week was a little hectic, but so exciting! It was probably one of the most anticipated fashion weeks in New York as it no longer was going to be held at Lincoln Center, but in various new venues around the city.

I was incredibly excited to catch up with old fashion friends who I mostly see during the fashion season.

Of course, I was also equally thrilled to have a chance to dress up! Being the queen of last minute planning, I managed to pick out my 5 looks for the week in just a few hours before my first fashion show of the day.

Luckily being so last minute usually works in my favor as I managed to pull everything off in record time!

The Marfan Foundation's 15th Heartworks Gala At Cipriani

The Marfan Foundation’s 15th Annual Heartworks gala was a glamorous affair to remember, partially for its decadence but more so for the unforgettable stories and speeches from people whom Marfan syndrome has affected. The star-studded gala was held at Cipriani on East 42nd Street in New York City and included a cocktail reception, silent auction, live performance, dinner and an awards ceremony.

This year the Marfan Foundation honored Isaiah Austin, the former Baylor University basketball star, and Carolyn Levering, Emeritus CEO of The Marfan Foundation, with its 2015 Hero with a Heart Award.

Special guests included Former NY Knicks standout Walt “Clyde” Frazier, Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, actress and dancer Bebe Neuwirth; and several members of the New York Knicks. Additionally, the who’s who of business and philanthropy were also in attendance to lend their support.

Tony Award-winner James Naughton was the master of ceremonies, with support from broadcasters Jill Martin and Janice Huff who assisted with the presentations. Megan Hilty, famous Broadway and television actor and singer entertained the crowd with jaw dropping performances.

Sponsors of the event included the American Heart Association, CRBE, Cushman & Wakefield, Macy’s, Nautica, Univision, and VF Sportswear.

The Marfan Foundation creates a brighter future for everyone affected by Marfan syndrome and related disorders. It works tirelessly to advance research, serve as a resource for families and healthcare providers, and raise public awareness.

Marfan syndrome is a life-threatening genetic disorder of the body's connective tissue. It affects the heart and blood vessels, the bones and the eyes. Knowing the signs is the key to early and accurate diagnosis and life-saving treatment.

The 15th Heartworks gala raised over $1.2 million dollars that evening. The funds will benefit the Marfan Foundation’s efforts to provide education, patient support, and research to create a brighter future for people living with Marfan syndrome and related disorders.

CANY 2014 Gala at the Edison Ballroom

Creative Alternatives of New York (CANY) held their annual gala at the beautiful Edison Ballroom this year. I was thrilled to be invited to cover such a special and tremendously important gala fundraiser. Through the use of drama therapy and creative expression in a group setting, CANY helps children and adults expand their self-concept, imagine new life possibilities and build the social and emotional tools they need in order to live meaningful lives.

In honor of the occasion I wore a vintage hot pink petal THEIA gown. Actress Katrina Bowden wore the same dress a few months earlier to an event. I loved the theatrics of the look with its ever so delicate flower petals that transitioned into a show-stopping hot pink ombre.

My makeup/hair was done by Valerie Starr from Caravan Stylist Studios. Valerie created the most brilliant movie star-esque updo/ makeup using Sexy Hair, Kryolan makeup, MD Complete Skincare and iKonic Styling tools

Valerie made me over into a modern day version of Audrey Hepburn with an immaculately sculpted side-swept updo and feature enhancing make-up. It was the most perfect look for the THEIA dress and of course the theatre themed evening.

For over thirty years, Creative Alternatives of New York (CANY) has been offering drama therapy programs to traumatized children and adults in the New York Metropolitan area, helping them to build new life skills and realize their potential through the art of drama. Working in partnership with 20 leading social service agencies and health care institutions, CANY serves almost 1,500 children and adults annually in residential centers for children and youth, special schools, veterans mental health centers, and domestic violence safe shelters.

My Brigitte Bardot Makeover at Caravan Stylist Studio

I recently had a Brigitte Bardot makeover at the Caravan Stylist Studio inside the historic Carlton Hotel in New York. It was such a fairy-tale experience to get this glamorous makeover which included a manicure, makeup and hair-styling.

When I arrived at the hotel I was given a special Carlton key card to visit the Caravan Stylist Studio suite. They were originally based in the garment district and recently just re-located to the Carlton Hotel. The Carlton is one of my favorite hotels in New York. It has such a beautiful art-deco style elegance to it.

MartĂ's Glamorous Collection at Caravan Stylist Studio

Sequins, leather, fur, oh my! Introducing MartĂ’s Holiday collection... I had the incredible opportunity of meeting MartĂ personally and previewing her new collection at Caravan Stylist Studio. I really loved everything from the sequin dresses to the leather jackets. It reminded me of something Serena or Blair would wear on Gossip Girl, one of my guilty TV pleasures. In fact the whole collection is reminiscent of a girl with a privileged life yet the price points are not outlandish.

Check out my favorite picks from MartĂ’s collection below.
Breathtaking is one word to describe these two sequin gowns. Forget the short dresses for New Year's Eve it's all about the long sophisticated gowns this season.
These leather jackets by MartĂ were a perfect mix of grungy meets chic.
Style tip: you can pair them with either a dress or wear with a simple t-shirt and leggings.
Simple shirt dress meets fur on bottom. How brilliant?! This is such a cute dress to wear for the Holiday's.
Style tip: Pair it with a chunky statement necklace to balance out the heavy bottom.
This was another fabulous sequin gown by MartĂ. It's such a strong piece that will definitely get you noticed.

About:
Launched in 2010, MartĂ is an All-American collection of luxe tailored essentials. Providing style to those who are also seeking comfort, MartĂ has conjured up the most addictive line of go-to separates to pair with her highly-coveted leather jackets.

Meeting Synderela at Caravan Stylist Studio

First of all I’m completely in love with the name Synderela. I was introduced to this fairytale inspired brand at the Caravan Stylist Studio event. Don’t get me wrong this Synderela is not your typical maiden in distress. According to the brand's profile she’s ambitious, courageous and rebellious.

Essentially the name is a perfect reflection of brand’s identity which borders on naughty and nice.

Check out my favorite picks for their collection below!
I loved the vibrant bright colors of these Syn skirts. In fact open front skirts are one of the biggest trends right now.
You can never really go wrong with lace. I would pair this dress with a leather belt and perhaps add a statement necklace.
This black dress was one of my favorite pieces from Syn. The neon stones on the bottom of the delicate sleeves were a brilliant addition.
I've always been a fan of sequins so naturally this gold sequin dress was another one of my favorites. There's nothing quite like sequins to make you feel like a princess or in this case a modern day Synderela.

My Favorite Picks From the DANA-MAXX Collection at Caravan Stylist Studio

At the Caravan Stylist Studio event I was introduced to DANA-MAXX, a women’s contemporary ready-to-wear clothing line. The brand caters to strong, edgy and feminine women which is definitely the kind of girl I am. What makes the DANA-MAXX look distinct is their use of brilliantly positioned architectural elements and bright colors. I couldn't resist trying on the above faux fur piece from their Fall 2012 collection.

Check out my favorite picks below from their Spring and Fall 2012 collections!

One of my favorite things about this dress was the signature DANA-MAXX cascading sleeves. Aside from the structure the design on the fabric made this look very unique.
What I love about this dress is the way the nude colored sleeves compliment the bright coral color. It's definitely an unexpected addition which is why it works so well!
Again, I'm in love with the sleeves! DANA-MAXX is obviously known for her beautiful sleeve design and this look is the perfect example. Everything works in this piece from the color, structure and pattern design.
I've saved one of the best for last as this look completely blew me away! I loved everything about it from the shiny metallic like pattern to the form fitting structure. The addition of the pockets completely takes the cake.

DANA-MAXX is officially one of my favorite designers and hopefully one of yours after reading this post!

My Favorite Picks from the Taylor Dress Collection

I had a chance to preview the new Taylor Dress collection at the Caravan Studio in NYC. I’ve been a huge fan of Taylor Dresses ever since I discovered the brand at a Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week event a few seasons ago. Their dresses can be described as classic and feminine. The style is very similar to what Audrey Hepburn or Jackie Kennedy would wear. They've taken old classic glamor and seamlessly turned it into perfectly tailored modern looks. The dresses don't reveal too much but the classic cut will definitely make you feel sexy.

Check out my favorite picks from the new Taylor Dress collection below.

Bright coral is my favorite color which is why I loved this piece so much. I would include a black belt to cinch the waist and you're all set to go with this dress.
This is the back of the polka dot dress that I have featured in the first photo. The overlay of the delicate flower material on the polka dot fabric really makes this piece stand out.
Another one of my favorites was this long black wrap dress. This classic piece gives you the opportunity to pull a minor Angelina Jolie one leg out look if you move the material in the front when you pose for a photo.
This yellow and gray frock is very mod chic. I would pair it with sheer stockings and blue heels.
Royal blue is my second favorite color and that's partially why I love this dress so much. What makes this look stand out is the plunging neckline design. It's a perfect example of the brand's classic style with a hint of sexy.
Last but not least another one of my favorites was the above multicolor print dress. It kind of pays homage to the 70's in a modern way.

Caravan Stylist Studio Event

I was invited to visit the incredible Caravan Stylist Studio located right in the heart of the fashion district in NYC. The goal of the studio is to showcase and support local designers. Their mission is shared with www.savethegarmentcenter.org and both strive to encourage more production in the USA when possible.

At the studio I had chance to meet with some of the most talented local designers like Taylor Dress, Dana Maxx, Marti, Synderela and Eliza J to name a few. I'll have individual blog posts with my favorite picks from their Holiday collections coming up.

I was also lucky to take home a few designer goodies. You'll see me wearing some of them during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in a few weeks!

Thank you so much Caravan Studio for having me. I had the most amazing time meeting everyone and previewing the Holiday collections.
